Hennessy Artistry rocks Nigeria

Those where the words of Tokini Peterside, Hennessy’s Communications Manager after she revealed the artistes whose stage appearances are going to be felt for this year's Hennessy Artistry VIP Nights coming up in September and October in Lagos, Abuja and Port Harcourt.

Hennessy made its debut in Nigeria 2007 with a contest amongst bartenders, after which it followed suit with a competition for rising d-jays in 2008 and a competition in 2009 which featured Mo'Cheddah, Bez, tv personality; Andre Blaise, Jimmy Flames and "oleku" maestro, Ice Prince Zamani all bottled in a contest which saw the "upcoming but making money" lyricist, Ice Prince as the winner!

The 2010 event featured Bez Idakula, MI, Sir Shina Peters, Nneka and Ice Prince because of their representation in Nigeria's wide range of music,  but 2011 has seen better, as the brand's club tour scheduled for Lagos, Port Harcourt and Abuja tagged ‘Hennessy Artistry’ which has DJ Caise as its official dj, Black Magic, YQ, David O and Shank as brand artistes has since begun in August, and the inflow of lovers of the brand as well as party people in clubs in Lagos have been massive.

The Headies; stand out | surpass | break from the norm

The Headies, formerly known as Hip Hop Awards is here again and better, with the one and only Eldee and Rita Dominic as hosts at the event which comes up later this year. Painstakingly, the organizers are putting in a lot of hard work for some mind blowing theatrics ranging from new innovations to creativity that will have jaws dropping at the quality of content they've put together.

Stand out, Surpass and Break from the norm is the theme for the event, as Wizkid, Ice Prince, Olamide and Tiwa Savage all making the list for this year's nomination for the NEXT RATED ARTISTE. And yes, the nominees are indeed worthy of recognition for their ceaseless contribution towards the Nigerian music industry as the winner gets to go home with the ultimate prize of a brand new car.

N-West releases new hit single titled "totori"

Nonso Okeke, popularly known as N-West is an r n b/hip-hop artiste from Anambra State who was born and bred in the City of Gidi. He is under the management of Many Men Entertainment and is doing tremendously well as a young act who has graced events like Kennis Music Easter Fiesta, Rhythm Unplugged and others.

With an album release date around the corner, his first single “for you” featuring M’Josh is something you might want to look out for.

However, he just dropped a new club banger featuring Kev and he calls this one "totori"...enjoy!

Nigeria Entertainment Awards is here again, but only better

Buckle up people as Nigeria Entertainment Awards (NEA) 2011 announces her 6th Annual Awards slated for 14th September, 2011 at the Sharp Theatre, Symphony Space, New York with Julius Agwu and Funke Akindele (jenifa) as hosts.

Tha Suspect renders advice to young artistes

David Peter, popularly known as Tha Suspect reveals what it takes to be an outstanding artiste and he calls it: COMMANDMENTS FOR UPCOMING ARTISTES.

1. Dear upcoming artist, respect those before you no matter the age difference because respect begets respect.

2. Study whatever formula that worked for others, but don’t replicate, be unique.

3. Your first single might not bring desired result so don’t lose hope; get back to your drawing board.

4. Your talent is not enough promo (no be beans), you must know somebody.

5. Don’t get online to bug celebs about your music, push yours too because they are there to push theirs.

Rock music in Naija just took a new turn!

Growing up with a singing mom and multi-instrumentalist father, our star artiste has gained significant musical awareness as a child, which spurred him to undergo an initial training in classical piano music. Having found a growing love for guitar-based music, he started experimenting with a range of musical styles which drew him towards blues and rock music, and that has helped him to create his own unique style.

 

He is, XTsamurai, a multi-instrumentalist, song writer and distinctive producer. XTsamurai recently released a single titled “closed doors” which is a unique blend of acoustic rock fused with a distinct African feel. More so, he is currently working on several projects as well as his debut album which he revealed should be in the market next year.
